A bit of this and that to share, as it’s been awhile…

If you missed the All-Alumni Reunion last fall, or the Reverse-Raffle in early February, you missed a lot. We packed out Petti’s Pizza, once again, with a huge turnout for the All-Alumni Reunion. It was good to see many alumni, as well as quite a number of new attendees. Soon, we’ll be posting the date for this year’s reunion, which always coincides with Homecoming.

Recently we held our latest Reverse-Raffle fundraiser. Gloria Whitmer-Majeski, and crew, once again out did themselves as it was quite an exciting evening. Quite a few alumni, as well as former teachers were there, and even a heavy snowstorm couldn’t quiet these Blue Devils. Much of the proceeds will be used for scholarships for this year’s graduating class. Additionally, we’re giving assistance to the Academic Challenge team, as they prepare to compete on the local popular television program.

I have a request to make. Our alumni association that got rolling a mere six years ago, is looking for additional folks to get involved. We have numerous committees as well as ongoing projects that has spread or group, and the board of directors, a bit thin. Aside form working on the activities, there’s a built-in reward as it fosters more connections among alumni. We have people involved from all walks of life, and hope to hear from as many as possible. Please contact me via email, and we can take it from there.

Upcoming over the next few months will be the Senior Awards Program, where we will provide numerous scholarships to soon to be new alumni. We’ll be announcing the date of this summer’s Ice Cream Social, to be held out at Penitentiary Glen, and for the linksters, there’ll be an alumni golf event happening soon. Details to be posted on the website. Speaking of which, if anyone is a web guru, we also need help with the WSAA website, as it too has grown by leaps and bounds.

Anyway, spring is in the air, and lots to do going forward.
